Remy Cointreau owned luxury cognac brand Louis XIII opened its first flagship store in South-east Asia on the ground floor of One Raffles Place in Singapore.

The store is within The Whisky Distillery’s retail space, making it the first shop-in-shop concept in South-east Asia as well.

In this permanent shop-in-shop flagship, every single edition in the Iconic Collection, from the Miniature (5cl) to the Louis XIII Le Mathusalem in a monumental 6-litre crystal decanter, will be available for purchase.

This makes it the widest range of Louis XIII products offered in the region’s domestic market.

“We are pleased to launch this collaboration for our customers with The Whisky Distillery. As a top retailer for fine spirits, they share our appreciation for uncompromised quality, powerful heritage and visionary craftmanship with a footprint in Singapore’s top luxury retail locations that is unparalleled.” said Tyrel Ball, Rémy Cointreau managing director, South-east Asia Pacific.

“In recent years, the appeal and demand for premium spirits consumption in Singapore has driven the search for authentic and highly coveted fine spirits,” said The Whisky Distillery’s managing director, Manjit Gill.

“The Whisky Distillery is at the forefront of premium spirits of genuine heritage, such as the Louis XIII Cognac. We are proud to partner with Rémy Cointreau to showcase the prestigious range of the Louis XIII Iconic Collection at The Whisky Distillery’s newest store in One Raffles Place.”

Aged between 40 and 100 years, Louis XIII is made using only grapes from the most exclusive region in Cognac – Grande Champagne – to create its eaux de vie (French for “water of life”).

After careful ageing and blending, the finished liquid is stored in a Baccarat crystal.

The company said the spirit is best served and enjoyed in matching crystal glasses “that sound like angels crying when clinked together”.

While limited editions like the Rare Cask and Black Pearl will remain exclusive to Louis XIII’s private client channels, the shop has plans to host previews for upcoming limited editions.

The standard product line will also still be available at The Whisky Distillery’s 11 other outlets across Singapore.
