Angus Dundee Distillers of Scotland, owner of Tomintoul and Glencadam malt distilleries, has announced its plan to build a malt whisky distillery with the world’s largest cave whisky maturation cellar in Chunan county in the coastal Zhejiang province of China.
The project marks a significant expansion for the distillery, strengthening its foothold in the Chinese whisky market which has recently seen the launch of a locally made whisky by global drinks giant Pernod Ricard.
Spanning over 20 acres, the site is located in the popular tourist destination of the Thousand Island Lake and the distillery will source it’s water from the nearby Nongfu Spring.

“We want to create one of the leading distilleries in Asia, combining world-class whisky production with an outstanding visitor experience,” he added.
