Whisky imports in South Korea surged by 50.9 percent year-on-year in the first half
of this year, marking a historic high.

The surge in whisky imports can be attributed to the growing popularity of highballs, which is made by mixing whisky with carbonated water or tonic water.
The highballs cocktail is particularly popular among young South Koreans.
n contrast, wine imports in South Korea contracted 10.8 percent to 31,300 tons in the first half of this year.
