TEN BARS IN ASIA MADE TO THE LIST OF WORLD’S 50 BEST BARS 2023

A total of ten bars in Asia have made to the list of World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 announced yesterday in Singapore.
The retro-styled BKK Social Club in Bangkok is the highest ranking Asian bar on this year’s Best 50 list in 13th place, Singapore’s Jigger & Pony took 14th spot, Seoul’s Zest is at 18th despite being a new entry, Bangkok’s Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar at 19th place.
Hong Kong’ s Coa, which was earlier named Asia’s Best Bar 2023, only gets a disappointing 20th spot.
Barcelona has retained its grip on this year’s awards as cocktail joint Sips claimed the top spot at yesterday’s ceremony.
New York’s Double Chicken Please took second place while Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy was name third best.
Completing the winning list of Asian bars are Singapore’s Sago House (32), Hong Kong’s Argo (34). Tokyo’s The SG Club (36) Tokyo’s Bar Benfiddich (37) and Singapore’s Atlas (48).
The winners are chosen by the World’s 50 Best Bars Academy, made up of 680 drinks experts in 28 regions, including renowned bartenders and consultants, drinks writers and cocktail specialists from around the world.
The experts are required to remain anonymous and voting is confidential, secure and independently adjudicated by Deloitte.
