HONG KONG PLANS WINE & DINE EXTRAVAGANZA THIS AUTUMN TO WOO VISITORS

Hong Kong’s hospitality sector will have their doors wide open to welcome guests from around the world in October and November during the Wine & Dine Festival and the month-long Taste Around Town event.

As a way to reboot the city’s tourism and consumer industries after years of COVID restrictions, the Hong Kong Tourism Board is planning to wow food and wine lovers from around the world with wine and dine surprises this autumn. Eligible overseas visitors will receive a free cocktail upon arrival.

To take place from 26 to 29 October at Hong Kong’s Harbourfront, this year’s Wine & Dine Festival will have nearly 300 booths showcasing global food and wine offerings, as well as a suite of interactive workshops for cooking masterclasses.

The popular country pavilions will showcase wines from 36 countries, the spotlight will be on the classic wines from France and Italy a well as emerging wine regions from Thailand, Moldova and Finland.

There will be a dedicated display for wines from China, featuring wines from Ningxia region, Yunnan and Shangdong provinces.

The interactive workshops will be led by celebrity chef He Jiansheng from Shunde of Gunagdong province and award-winning Taiwanese baker Wu Pao-chun.

Upon conclusion of Wine & Dine Festival, the month-long Taste Around Town event will kick off from 1 November.

Over 300 restaurants and bars will participate in the event offering limited-time menus and exclusive discounts to customers.

The lineup includes a host of Michelin-starred restaurants and bars that have made to the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list.

Discounts offered by participating venues on their limited-time menus and cocktails will range from 15 to 30 percent.
