KWEICHOW MOUTAI & WULIANGYE MOST VALUABLE OF ALL CHINESE BRANDS IN 2023

Chinese baijiu brands Kweichow Moutai and Wuliangye were named the top two most valuable of all brands in China in 2023.

According to the "Focus Media · Hurun Most Valuable China Brands 2023" released recently by Hurun Research Institute and Focus Media,

Chinese social media platform WeChat is third most valuable Chinese brand among the 300 on the list.

This is the sixth time in a row that Kweichow Moutai made it to the top of the list, it is the only trillion-yuan brand in China, possessing a brand value of RMB1.05 trillion (USD146 billion).

Liquor brand Wuliangye came in second, with its brand valued at RMB260b, up 4 percent year-on-year.

WeChat ranked in the third place with brand value rising 41 percent year-on-year to RMB 225b.

According to the report, this year's Top 300 brands come from 64 cities in China, two more than last year. Among them 129 brands have increased in value compared to last year, with 35 new brands on the list.

The total brand value of the listed brands stand at RMB6.8t (USD945.9b).

The top 10 companies with the fastest growing brand value span across seven industries, including e-commerce and retail, alcohol, service for daily life sector, media and entertainment, telecommunications, catering and automobile manufacturing.

It is worth noting that the brand value threshold for the top 300 has risen to RMB3b from RMB2.5b last year.
